About the IR Impact Awards
The awards recognise excellence in investor relations across the European capital markets, celebrating the companies and individuals setting high standards in communication, transparency, accessibility and engagement with the investment community.
What makes the IR Impact Awards ‘awards for research’ particularly significant is the independent nature of the selection process. Companies do not submit nominations or applications for consideration. Instead, the shortlists are determined through extensive research conducted directly with the investment community.
As part of the process, IR Impact conducts in-depth telephone interviews with portfolio managers and analysts across Europe, alongside an electronic survey of buy-side and sell-side analysts and portfolio managers. The research is supported by investment community databases built over more than 35 years and is designed to gather the views of the people who engage most closely with listed companies and their investor relations teams.
The final shortlists are based on the companies and individuals who receive the highest scores through this research process, making the awards a direct reflection of investor and analyst feedback.
GCP’s focus on investor relations
Over the past year, GCP has continued to focus on transparent, accessible and meaningful investor relations, particularly against a backdrop of ongoing macroeconomic uncertainty, higher interest rates and continued volatility across listed infrastructure and renewable energy sectors.
A key initiative during the year was the launch of the GCP Investor Portal, designed to provide shareholders with greater visibility into the company’s underlying portfolio and valuation approach. The portal gives investors access to information including portfolio overviews, cash flow forecasts used in the published net asset value and details of the infrastructure assets underpinning investments. The objective has been to help shareholders better understand the portfolio, the drivers of returns and the long-term value within the company.
Alongside this, GCP has continued to deliver a broad shareholder engagement programme across a range of channels and audiences. During the year, this included individual meetings with existing and prospective shareholders, shareholder webinars, roadshows, retail investor events and targeted engagement with wealth managers and fund selectors. GCP also hosted livestreamed and in-person events, including a Capital Markets Day, and facilitated site visits to provide investors with a closer understanding of the underlying portfolio assets.
