Birmingham Biopower is a 9MWe wood-fuelled biomass plant in construction on a two-acre site in Tyseley, Birmingham. The plant will utilise proven technology to be provided by Nexterra Systems Corp and will be fuelled by c.60,000 tonnes of recycled wood per annum. The plant is to be built on a site with good logistical access from the road network in Birmingham.
A portfolio of ci. 1,400 domestic boiler installations in individual residential properties across the UK and 40 commercial boilers. The boilers generate cash flows under the Renewable Heat Incentive scheme payable Ofgem.
Widnes Biomass is a 20.2MWe and 7.8 MWth Combined Heat and Power plant in construction in Merseyside. GCP invested in the project alongside the Green Investment Bank.
A 15.8MWe wood-fuelled biomass combined heat and power plant on a six-acre site in Londonderry Port, Northern Ireland. Once constructed, the plant is forecast to be the largest renewable energy project in Northern Ireland and will generate c. 10% of all renewable energy in the province.
